no create groups?
written by fourfold, February 15, 2010
I can't create a new group. When I click the "create" link it reloads the groups page.

I'm using Chrome in Mac OS. I've just noticed a couple things --

On the twitter-esque box in your profile, the "Share your thoughts here..." text doesn't disappear when you click to enter text.

Similarly, just tabbing through the search box while it still reads "Search..." causes it to actually start searching for the word "Search..."

The tags that took the form of
before are all broken now, but I assume you just want to get rid of that (what was that for, anyway? Refer to the original post somehow?)

A lot of punctuation doesn't display properly, switching " for ™ and various other things.

I thought some text in quote boxes had turned gigantic, but I can't find an example now. So maybe that's fixed!

Er, that is: "The tags that took the form of {quote23984239} are all broken now." I guess they're not broken in the comments here.

I appear to be able to vote up my own comment as well!

Hrm, my italics didn't work there. Perhaps this calls for testing:

There was a problem with the Search Engine Friendly URLs for the community area. This caused problems with links such as the Group Creation and possibly other aspects that are part of the community area. I'll downsize the headlines through the CSS.

Search box
written by Karateka, February 16, 2010
The problem with the search box is that it does a full text search against the entire forum posts database. This slows it down and messes up the Ajax which relies on quick search results. Try the Search link. Since this one doesn't use Ajax, you will not experience these types of problems.

Whoops. Duh. I had gotten logged out and not noticed it. Please ignore that last.

When writing a post, none of the formatting buttons work. If I click on Italic, Bold, Link, or whatever, the focus leaves the text box, so the text I'm trying to apply them to doesn't have anything happen to it. Same for Chrome, Safari and Firefox (all on Mac OS).

I manually put in the {em} tags on my latest post but they don't seem to be doing anything. The old {i} works fine, though.

First, my name was changed from Sam26 to Lew77, and second, some of my posts are under my old user name WttA5. I tried changing my user name back to Sam26 but was unable to do so. These are small problems that I am sure you will work out, but just thought I would let you know. By the way, the site looks much better.

This isn't so much a bug as a suggestion, but I liked it showing who the OP of each thread was before.
