Calling all phenomenologists. I really need some clarity on Marion's theory of givenness in regards to the ideas of saturated phenomenon, the 'subject' and in particular in relation to the cultural phenomena of film and images. Can anyone link all of this up into an explanation? I am interested in images, photographs, and how some can affect a viewer/be remembered and come forth through association and unconscious processes. I have read Camera Lucida, Roland Barthes, and the 'punctum' etc but would like to attach this to more fundamental ideas... From my limited understanding I think I have to look along the lines of intention/intuition.
